Slice of Big Brown | Goose Island Beer Co.
ABV: 12.4%
Style: Stout - Imperial / Double
Actively Produced
Description: A chanced meeting at the Barrel and Flow Festival between Goose Island brewer Sam Ross and Black Calder Brewing founder Terry Rostic grew into a strong friendship built on the culture of hip-hop, sneakers, and all things beer. As the first black-owned brewery in the state of Michigan, Sam and Goose knew they had to brew a dope beer with the craft beer culture kings of the Mitten. Enter, "Slice of Big Brown." A pecan pie inspired stout barrel aged in Blanton's barrels for 8 months. The additions of panela sugar, pecans, and an actual piece of pecan pie, create a delectably sweet beer with aromas of caramel, chocolate, and toasted graham cracker. A full-bodied stout dripping with maple flavor, heavy notes of pecan, and sweet brown sugar.
