Description: Old Elk Medianoche is our first, but certainly not last release in partnership with Old Elk Bourbon in Fort Collins. Old Elk's flagship bourbon utilizes a distinct mash bill featuring 34% malted barley, 15% rye, and 51% corn, which is 5-7 times the amount of malted barley typically used in bourbon, making their barrels a perfect match for Medianoche. After nearly 23 months in freshly emptied Old Elk 4-5 year-old straight bourbon barrels, these unique casks imparted notes of sticky caramel, maple almond granola, dark cocoa powder, clove spice, anise, and chocolate-covered espresso beans.
