Audhumbla (Barrel Series 2022) | Bleeding Heart Brewery
ABV: 13.7%
Style: Mead - Traditional
Description: As mead nourished the Norse men and women of old, so did Audhumbla nourish the primordial giants. She lay atop a valley where her teats produced four flowing streams of milk. The giant Ymir drank and grew from these streams. Needing sustenance of her own, Audhumbla licked the salt off the rocks where she laid. After licking the same rock for three days, she licked the Aesir (god) Buri into being. Inspired by the mythology, Audhumbla is a single honey traditional mead fermented and aged in a blackberry brandy ex-bourbon barrel for 8 months. The bourbon and brandy characteristics intertwine spectacularly with the clean warmth of the wild Oregonian honey.
