Green Bullet | Adnams
ABV: 4.6%
Style: Golden Ale
Description: Green Bullet is the name of a bittering hop variety that has a European heritage. It was bred and released in New Zealand in 1972 as a triploid Alpha variety. Now, before we lose anyone with the technicalities, let’s explain why we’ve chosen to brew a beer using a single hop. Most beers are brewed with more than one hop variety and one or more malt styles, in order to create a wide breadth of flavour and aroma. In beer, we don’t often see a single hop variety used in isolation in this way. However, in winemaking wine can be made using a single grape variety. Fergus, together with M&B, thought it would be an interesting, and tasty, idea to try and test the conventions of the beer category by concentrating on one distinctive hop.
