Description: This Doppelsticke is similar to a German version of a black barleywine, but with a crisp and refreshing lagered finish. The base style is an alt beer, but like its German counterpart, we have jacked up the malt and hops to provide a rich full bodied dark ale with lingering bitterness in the finish. Using only the finest German caramel and dark malts, the flavors exude dry fruits and toffee with notes of subtle dark chocolate. Only the finest German hops are used in ample quantities to balance this rare German ale to perfection. (This beer was brewed at Apocalypse Ale Works in collaboration with Jason Oliver from Devils Backbone)
