Arbuckle | Burgh'ers Brewing
ABV: 6.6%
IBU: 34
Style: Porter - Coffee
Actively Produced
Description: A Rich and robust Porter with notes of cocoa, milk chocolate, and caramel which are elevated by complex roast and coffee flavors from the addition of a blend of Eliza Furnace and El Puente coffees from our friends at de Fer Coffee. The name is a nod to Pittsburgh's own brothers John and Charles Arbuckle who revolutionized coffee as it was known in the late 1800s with a coating process for the pre-roasted beans that preserve them for the nation's post-Civil War westward expansion and later being sold to Maxwell House after their deaths. You can find the only remnants of this coffe, sugar, shipping, trust busting, and philanthropic magnate in an alley behind the Duquesne Club named Coffey Way.
