Gose | Laurelwood Brewing Co.
ABV: 4.4%
IBU: 8
Style: Sour - Gose
Actively Produced
Description: Gose is an old wheat beer style originated in Leipzig, Germany. It is a beer that uses Lactobacillus bacteria, similar to what is used in yogurt or sauerkraut, to acidify the beer giving it a tart, lemony flavor. Gose’s are spiced with coriander and salt to give them a deep and savory character which balances nicely with the tart finish. We used Jacobsen Sea salt from the Oregon coast to give it a rich sea salt flavor. The beer itself is hazy and light, like many wheat beers, and is very refreshing. Gose’s generally have quite low alcohol content which makes them very sessionable. We are very excited to help keep this historical beer style alive and even more excited to drink this delicious beer, Prost!
