Preparation - Loess Hills Farmhouse Series | Marto Brewing Company
ABV: 6.3%
Style: Wild Ale - American
Actively Produced
Description: A blonde sour farmhouse ale fermented with our house blend of saccharomyces, brettanomyces, & lactobacillus. It then undergoes a secondary fermentation after the addition of raspberries, cherries, & blackberries. Preparation is named after a settlement founded in 1858 by a Mormon leader in the heart of the Loess Hills. The town had at one time a population of six or eight hundred, but they eventually got into difficulties over the ownership of the property, and the organization broke up. As they believed their existence in the this world was only a preparation for the world to come, they named the town Preparation. The town was abandoned before the end of the 19th century. The site is now a popular scenic destination, Preparation Canyon.
