The Great Debate IPA | McMenamins
ABV: 6.32%
IBU: 48
Style: IPA - American
Actively Produced
Description: A couple of years ago, some guys in the Northeast decided to make hazy IPAs that focused almost entirely on aroma and flavor, and nill on bitterness. Over these past few years, we've started calling these Northeastern IPAs. A focus on a soft mouthfeel with big stone fruit flavors and berry aroma, with an overall feel of drinking something more akin to fruit juice. This little style - or subset - has caused quite a debate on what makes an India Pale Ale. Is it International Bitterness Units? Is it hop flavor and aroma? Is it clarity? We ask you, the drinker, to decide. Cheers to the Great Debate. Special Techniques: Barbarian Yeast Malts: 2-Row, Torrified Wheat, White Wheat, Vienna Hops: Chinook, Mosaic, Meridian OG: 1.061 TG: 1.013 ABV: 6.32 IBU: 48 SRM: 4
