Export 1937 Imperial Brown Stout | Mohawk Brewing Company
ABV: 10.1%
IBU: 90
Style: Stout - Russian Imperial
Actively Produced
Description: Despite the name, this beer is definitely black. Yet it has a smooth, rounded flavour of sweet, dark chocolate with hints of coffee and licorice. Dark and dried fruits are apparent along with a balancing hoppy finish. First brewed for the Empress of Russia back in 1796 it was claimed to be good for seven years. This version from 1937 will probably keep as well if not longer. Brewed with Mild Ale, Amber, Brown and Black malt, brown sugar, Fuggle and Golding hops and English ale yeast.
