Description: Once upon a time great care was required on even the shortest pedestrian journey through portside Newstead. In the late 1900s, knowing when to dodge and when to feint, which eye to meet and which to avoid — and to pad a pocket to muffle those jingle-janglin’ coins — were just “community expectations”. Harry Doggett wasn’t one to pull any punches though, straight-laced and bold, a perfect recipe for a classic Pale Ale. Endeavouring to encapsulate the zeitgeist of Newstead, this pale is a little rough around the edges, with a strong hop aroma and firm bitterness. Citrus, pine, grapefruit and lemon all balance a malt sweetness that makes this beer dangerously drinkable.
