Athens Marble | Pollyanna Brewing Company
ABV: 6.0%
IBU: 20
Style: Blonde Ale
Actively Produced
Description: Before being named “Lemont” in 1850, our historic hometown was known as “Athens.” During this time, Athens was a hotspot for limestone quarries. Because of its high reputation for color, durability, and beauty, the stone was known as “Athens Marble.” In fact, the Chicago Water Tower was built with Athens Marble (and then survived The Great Chicago Fire). Just like finely polished limestone, this beer is soft and smooth with a delicate honey aroma and flavor thanks to the addition of over 100lbs of fresh wildflower honey from Smith Talbot Apiaries in Naperville, IL.
