Space Taxi Barrel #21 | Quaff Bros.
ABV: 10.3%
Style: Belgian Strong Dark Ale
Actively Produced
Description: This is our first ever collaboration with 3 breweries, and one of them happens to be from Europe! Last year my good friend Urbain Coutteau of the famous Belgian Brewery De Struise payed me a visit. It just so happened that another good friend Scott LaFollette of Blank Slate was there, too. Long story short, there was dinner and cocktails and ideas tossed around the table. What came of this dinner resulted in recipes being traded, liquid aged in Bourbon barrels, and concepts taken to the next level, not to mention a ton of laughs and some things that just can’t be shared. This Belgian Strong Ale was aged in Bourbon barrels and spiked with Sangiovese grape juice. 4 barrels to be exact. But upon tasting the barrels several times with Scott at Blank Slate, there was one barrel that stood above the rest, one that just was more elegant, and mature and that reigned supreme. So, while the other 3 rest quietly and attempt to catch up, this certain barrel was too good not to bottle on its own and give it its justice as its individual project. We want to take this opportunity to congratulate Scott at Blank Slate and Urbain from De Struise for their flawless execution.
