Instruments of Destruction | Rohrbach Brewing Company
ABV: 9.2%
IBU: 33
Style: Barleywine - Other
Actively Produced
Description: The newest in the “Instruments” series of big dark brews, this black wheatwine (a wheat-based version of a barley wine) was brewed with copious amounts of specialty malts including traditional wheat malt and extra-dark Midnight Wheat malt, giving way to a bready malt backbone and black-as-night appearance without the bitterness imparted by other darkly roasted malts. The addition of toasted hazelnut and orange blossom honey add touches of roasty nuttiness and floral sweetness. Lengthy cold-conditioning has left this heavy hitter dangerously smooth despite its high ABV.
