During the 18th century the soldiers and officers in the British colonies were demanding their beer, but beer would spoil during the several months long voyage in the tropical climate. After few years of effort, the problem was solved and a new type of beer was born - famous India Pale Ale, named after the biggest British colony. Hops namely contain large amount of antiseptic and antiviral substances. During the 20th century this beer type almost died out, until it's renaisance, than American microbrewery brewmasters brought it back to life. From America it came back to its homeland, Europe.
