Description: While tasting through more than 25 different barrels of Medianoche to select for packaging, we came across one in particular that was especially remarkable. Originally used to age straight bourbon for more than 10 years, then used to age Medianoche for 20 months, this barrel expressed rich notes of caramel candies, baker's chocolate, vanilla, sweet tobacco, and fudge brownies. We hand-selected adjuncts to complement the complexity of this specific barrel, starting with fresh roasted Ghanan cacao nibs and husks from Nuance Chocolate in Fort Collins, and then adding Madagascar bourbon vanilla beans for extended aging.
