Description: The rich caramel, burnt sugar, toffee, chocolate, and coffee flavors are accentuated by a generous sea salt addition in Salted Caramel Porter. The base beer consisted of four different crystal malts, comprising over 25% of the total grain bill, which perfectly complements the huge caramel candy addition. We fermented with a low-attenuating English yeast to maintain some of the candy-like sweetness in the finish, but balanced the sweetness with dark roasted malts and a generous addition of sea salt in the boil. The lower ABV results in a surprisingly drinkable, yet complex and flavorful porter reminiscent of its candy namesake.
